New (and final) Content Update!

 Dear Guests,

it is happening - we're approaching March 31st and fast! :)

We have updated loads of information on the Blog! This is very likely the last and final update with content on this blog. You can now find more information on the following topics:

  1. You can now find a step-by-step guide on how to organize Kimono rental (via Chiiya) here if you're interested.

  2. You can now find a short overview of the Wedding Day and the Ceremony specifically (partially in German) here.

  3. We've updated every single existing Google list for Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara, and have now also included lists for Tokyo and "rest of Japan" with more places such as restaurants, snack places, bars, sights, etc. Check out the links to the respective lists by following the pages on the left under "4. Japan". Make sure to access the Google lists on your phone, so you have them ready when exploring. For the lazy folks amongst you: Here's the Osaka List, here's the Kyoto List, here's the Nara List, here's the Tokyo List, and here's the all over Japan list.

  4. You can now find what we plan to do during the Osaka Night Out here (March 29th).

  5. You can now find what we plan to do during the Osaka Day Trip (April 1st).

  6. You can now find what we plan to do during the Nara Day Trip here (April 2nd).

  7. You can now find what we plan to do during the Kyoto Day Trip here (April 3rd).

Since we also got some questions around that: You can either buy a classical SIM card on site with mobile data volume in Japan, or you can already purchase an eSIM before you go to Japan. There's plenty of different plans available, usually going from 1 week with just 1GB to 30 days with 10GB or 20GB. Since the requirements are so different, we can't tell you which provider to get, but by googling Japan and eSIM you should find plenty of options. The most common eSIM companies that you come across are Mobal, Ubigi and Airalo with different cards and products. The local providers are NTT, Softbank, or Docomo. If you get an eSIM for about 3 weeks and 10GB of data, you'll be looking at somewhere between 10 to 30 Euros, depending on provider and specific details of the plan. For most plans, you will exclusively be able to use mobile data, no phone calls or SMS. Keep in mind to check first if your mobile device can handle eSIMs, since slightly older mobiles often do not.

That's it folks! With the wedding rapidly approaching, we're really looking forward to seeing you all in Japan.

As always, let us know if there's anything you need help with :)

Best,

Chiiya and Tim
