Everything You Need to Know

While it might not mean much yet: Let's directly have a look at our overall plan and vision for the time in Osaka and we can explain it from there:

Our idea is: If you make the long journey to Japan and Osaka specifically, we want to arrange it in a way that you get the most out of your stay. That's why we planned the travel "itinerary" as above and we'll explain that in more detail in a second.

But, very important: Please note that you do not have to participate in any of the above mentioned voluntary activities or events (except for the wedding ceremony 😀). Chiiya and I will go visit the places or do the activities mentioned above and please feel free to come with us - but you of course do not have to. It's entirely up to you how and what you want to explore in Osaka or Japan. We're happy if you tag along with us, but no hard feelings if you choose otherwise! Additionally, please fell free to reach out to us if you need help or advice with your very own travel plans.

Now, let's get into our plan above:

First, we generally planned in a way that you can use Osaka as your "travel hub" for at least 5 nights if you want to, because many of the surrounding beautiful sights and cities in the so called "Kansai" region are easily reachable in a day-trip from there. If you stay in Osaka at least from Friday March 29th to Wednesday April 3rd, you would have two full days (not counting the wedding) to explore Osaka, one day to visit Nara, and one day to visit Kyoto. Depending on how much more you want to explore the Kansai region, you can easily stay longer than just 5 days in Osaka, but we tried to keep the planning to a pretty crisp itinerary so you see the absolute top spots selected places have to offer 😀 Particularly for Kyoto, you will not be able to see all the top sights in just one single day (unless you really want to hurry and get up at 4am...) since they're pretty spread out over the city. That's why, depending on your other travel plans, you could potentially think of staying in Kyoto after your time in Osaka, so you have one more day to see the other sights. Particularly if you plan to travel to the North after your time in Osaka (e.g. to see Shirakawago Village or Kanazawa), this might be a good idea. Please note that we will be either in Osaka or travelling through Japan ourselves after April 3rd, so we might include other places or spots you might be able to join us. Since our own plans are not yet fixed, this is unclear as of today though.

Second, the wedding itself will be held at Tenmangu Shrine in Osaka. We will still provide all the details at a later point, but in short, you will enjoy a traditional Japanese wedding ceremony and a fantastic wedding reception with food and drinks in a stunning 1.100 year old Shinto shrine. Do not worry: There is nothing to organize or think about at this point, so no need to try to buy Kimonos in Germany 😄 We'll provide further information about dress code and all other details in a future update.

Lastly, you will find more detailed information on the different sites and pages on this Blog. Check out the navigation bar to the left to see details. Since we work on this every now and then, not every page has content yet. We'll upload a new post every time we update or add any of the content!
